Upgrading to AFLite 2.1

Before you begin, check IIS Manager and find which website AchieveForms is installed on. This will be indicated by the existance of an AF3Int virtual directory (or AF3CMS for AFLite 1 users). When reinstalling, make sure to select this web site in the site selector.

Note: This post is authored for AFLite 2.0 users. If you are using an earlier AFLite version, see "Upgrading your Server to AFLite2.0" for details on backing up and uninstalling your AFLite 1.0 installation. When copying your data back over, you will find the data folder and configuration folder of your old data in the BWS\AF3CMS directory instead.

IMPORTANT: Copy the entire BWS folder to a secure location as a backup. Failure to do this before uninstalling will result in the loss of your data!

Removing AFLite 2.0:
Go to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall all AFLite products.

Installing AFLite 2.1
Your AFLite 2.1 package will come with 4 installers and 5 PDF manuals. The components are:
Server component:
AFLite-(2.1).exe, AFLite Installation Guide.pdf - This is the AFLite server component and installation guide. Whether you are using SharePoint, MCMS, or CMS.Rapid, you will need to install this first.

MCMS or CMS.Rapid users:
AFLite-CMS-(2.1).exe, AFLite MCMS Installation Guide.pdf, How to create an AFLite MCMS Template.pdf
Sample templates will be available after the install at BWS\AF3CMS\Templates. CMS.Rapid templates are included in the XmlTemplates subdirectory.
CMS.Rapid users will need to copy all 4 dlls from BWS\AF3CMS\Control into the bin directory of their rapid site. Users may need to perform an IISRESET /stop in order to replace the dlls.
MCMS users will need to copy and include the new MSCMSAF.dll, S2.dll, and Firmstep2API.dll files from "\Program files\BWS\AF3CMS\Control" into your CMS Project. Please note that all 3 dlls are now required as part of the CMS project. Rebuild the project and push it onto the server.

SharePoint users:
AFLite-Sharepoint-(2.1).exe, AFLite SharePoint Installation Guide.pdf
Please note this installer will perform an IISRESET.

SharePoint List Lookups:
AFLite Sharepoint List Connector-(2.1).exe, AFLite Sharepoint List Connector Installation Guide.pdf
This exciting new component can be used whether you are serving forms through MCMS or SharePoint. After configuring the server (see above pdf), this will allow users to look up data stored in SharePoint lists. Full AchieveForms users will also be able to insert data into SharePoint Lists and Document Libraries using integration actions.

Restoring your data:

Copy your BWS\Internal\Data* folder into the new BWS\Internal folder

Copy the old BWS\Internal\Configuration\af3activation.xml file into your new BWS\Internal\Configuration file

Restart the Firmstep2 Internal service (on the command line: net stop fs2_int & net start fs2_int)
