Creating forms

I downloaded and installed the server and client versions on the same box. I added the achieveformscontrol to the template, but can't design the form. I guess my question is, how do you create forms? In published mode, I get "ERROR - NO FORM SELECTED", and in edit mode I either get a registration form (render and design mode), or a "There are no published forms currently available." message in render mode.

I didn't find documentation with regards to that, so I would greatly appreciate it if you can direct me to where to get more details.

RE: Creating forms

Hi Adnan,

First off, if you're just getting started, I'd suggest you upgrade to AFLite 2.0.

The message "There are no published forms currently available" implies the control is trying to run in RenderOnly mode. Change the "IntegrationMode" on your template to RenderDesign.

Secondly, you may not have appropriate permissions. You'll either need to set up user permissions in AchieveForms, or you can try setting ImpersonateDesignUser to "adminadmin1".

Please let me know if you have any other troubles with this.

Thanks,
Nick

RE: Creating forms

Im Having a similar problem. I set everything up and when I create a new page I get the following error 'Sorry, you do not have permissions to create a new form.'. It wont let me set ImpersonateDesignUser. It just returns to blank again. It also says 'cannot connect to firm step server' in print and web format properties.

RE: Creating forms

Hi Sibs,
Are you able to browse to http://localhost/af3int/an/default.aspx on the server? If you are (and it does not ask for activation), the likely problem is the registry settings for the add-on.

Make sure in the HKLM/Software/BWS/CmsControl registry key that the FirmstepServer and FirmstepPort are "localhost" and 55558

Thanks very much. It was the server name in the registry.

RE: Creating forms

I need some help with my installation. I have the servername/port# screwed up somewhere. In the installation, I installed under an MCMS entry in our IIS app that runs as localhost:2363 I had no problem with controls or working with the product but creating a form in a browser gives me an error about not having permissions. i have read through the discussion board and see it is most likely my web/mcms/aflite config issues. If my site which uses aflite runs at localhost:2363 and the common server name is Tester2 how should my registry files look? Is it possible i need the network team to OPEN port 55558? Im out of my area of expertise here, and need some direction. maybe i should uninstall and reinstall?
